First, in the process of processing, the electric discharge machine with poor discharge performance will produce the phenomenon of unstable discharge. The abnormal working performance of the machine tool pulse power supply and the servo feed system of the machine tool are the reasons for the instability of the discharge in machine tool processing. Therefore, the pulse power supply of the machine tool is required to output a series of stable pulses without external interference. The servo feed system of the machine tool should have high sensitivity and strong anti-interference ability.
Second, different electrode materials also affect the discharge stability. Therefore, we should select appropriate electrical parameters according to the performance of electrode materials to give play to the processing advantages of materials and deal with the defects in their processing.
Third, improper processing of the processing fluid and its quality problems will also lead to unstable discharge. Therefore, in EDM, the method of flushing and pumping should be often used to discharge the chips, so as to avoid arc discharge and make the machining stable. In addition, the spark working fluid with high insulation, low viscosity and good fluidity shall be used.
Fourth, improper adjustment of the parameters of the EDM sparking machine will also have a negative impact on the discharge stability. Therefore, when dealing with electrical parameters, special attention should be paid not to use excessive current, excessive pulse width and too small pulse gap.
Fifth, the parts that are difficult to process are not conducive to stable processing. Therefore, the current must be reduced temporarily, and the electrical gauge shall be increased gradually after the actual processing area is gradually expanded and the processing is gradually stabilized.
