Precautions for Using Fast-moving Wire EDM Equipment

Nov 07, 2025|

When operating any type of machinery, it is essential to prioritize personal safety and equipment protection.

Fast-moving Wire Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment is widely used in mold processing and hardware component machining. Operators must be familiar with the operational techniques of the EDM equipment and lubricate relevant parts of the machine before startup.

Before starting the equipment, the coolant must be checked. The working environment must be free of flammable or explosive materials. Follow the standard operating procedures and select appropriate processing parameters to prevent issues such as wire breakage. When loading or unloading the molybdenum wire, be cautious to avoid hand injuries, and dispose of waste wire in designated containers.

Never touch the power supply with wet hands, and always adhere to safety regulations during operation. Prevent conductive substances such as coolant from entering the electrical components, which could cause short circuits.

After using the Fast-moving Wire EDM equipment, turn off the power, clean the worktable and fixtures, and properly handle the coolant. Avoid direct skin contact with the coolant.
