一,Introduction to Vertical Machining Center Products
1, Overview and Definition
Vertical machining center is the most widely used and numerous type of CNC machining machine tool. Its core feature is that the spindle axis is perpendicular to the worktable.
Core definition: It is a vertical CNC milling machine equipped with an automatic tool changing device and a computer numerical control system, which can continuously complete various machining processes such as milling, drilling, boring, expanding, reaming, tapping, etc. through automatic tool changing in one clamping.
Basic structure: You can imagine it as a very precise and fully automatic "carving machine", where the spindle (tool) moves up and down in the Z-axis direction, while the workpiece moves on a horizontal plane composed of the X-axis and Y-axis. The three can work together to process complex two-dimensional or three-dimensional parts.
二, Working principle and processing flow
1.Programming and Preparation:
Use CAD software for 3D design of parts, and generate tool paths and CNC G-code programs through CAM software.
Install the required tools into the tool magazine.
Accurately fix the workpiece (usually a blank or semi-finished product) onto the fixture of the workbench.
2.Knife alignment and setting:
The operator sets the origin of the workpiece coordinate system through a measuring tool and inputs this data into the CNC system.
3.Automatic machining cycle:
Start: The program starts running.
Movement: The workbench moves along the X and Y axes to position the workpiece at the first machining position.
Tool change: ATC retrieves the designated tool from the tool library and loads it into the spindle according to program instructions.
Cutting: The spindle rotates at high speed and feeds down along the Z-axis to cut the workpiece.
Repeat: After the current process is completed, the spindle returns, the tool changing mechanism replaces the next tool, and the next process continues.
This process repeats until all features of the part have been machined.

2. Operators must pass training, examinations or assessments and then hold a certificate to work.
3. Before starting the vertical machining center, it is necessary to check whether the lubricating oil in the central automatic lubrication system tank behind the machining center is sufficient. If any shortage is found, it should be replenished in time.
4. Turn on the compressed air switch and the main electrical switch behind the electrical cabinet of the machining center.
5. Press the "ON" button on the control panel of the machining center to start the CNC system. After the self inspection is completed, press the start button.
6. Check the motor, spindle, and other components to ensure that there is no abnormal noise, vibration, or heating.
7. Provide an appropriate amount of lubricating oil according to the lubrication diagram of the machine tool to ensure the normal operation of the lubrication system.
After confirming that the workbench is clean, place the workpiece on the workbench for alignment and fixation.
Use the tool setting rod to determine the zero position of the workpiece, and input the zero value into the system for confirmation.
The tools used for inspection should be securely installed and unobstructed within the operating range.
Determine the operation mode of the CNC system based on the workpiece, input the program and simulate the machining on the microcomputer without any errors before proceeding with the machining.
After processing and testing the finished parts to meet the requirements, remove the workpiece.
To adjust the coolant nozzle while the spindle is stopped.
When an alarm occurs in the vertical machining center, it should be stopped immediately to identify the cause of the alarm and troubleshoot.
Do not approach the moving parts of the machine tool while it is running, and do not open the door of the machine tool during processing. Do not use wet hands or gloves to operate the buttons on the machine tool panel.
Routine and periodic inspections, adjustments, and maintenance should be carried out according to the requirements of the machine tool instruction manual.
After the machining is completed and shut down, all components of the machine tool should be returned to their initial positions.
After the work is completed and the machine is shut down, clean up the chips, wipe the doors, covers, windows, workbench, and work area. Check that the coolant, hydraulic oil, and lubricating oil should be clean, otherwise they should be replaced in time, and the filter and oil tank should be cleaned. Turn off the CNC power switch and then turn off the main power switch.
